Alright…we have droids in now….I see those little bastards scattered all over the galaxy….Where is my bolt to keep them on lockdown after I steal them? I agree with the ability to steal droids… perhaps a highlevel skill for slicers or smugglers, sort of how hijack/pirateship are.
Selling droids out of shops would also be very cool… but isn’t really necessary IMO.

In all fairness droids in general are rather useless, unless of course you’re building massive amounts of ships.. or just refuse to learn basic. Stealing them would be fun.. if they actually had some cool uses.. but that’s a separate topic.

Bumping this idea (Oh mighty RJ please don’t flame me!) because I still want to be able to steal droids and either resell them or salvage them for parts. Also, being able to somehow sell a droid in a shop would be cool too.

Pet shops on the original Diku code where built so that the next vnum room up would be a ‘storage’ room, and any mobs put there would be sold in the shop. I suppose if that code still stands, you could make a locked room where you could put the droids, and the vendor would sell them according to a level based pricing scheme.

I enjoy the ideal of selling, and stealing droids.
Droids are extremely cheap to make, and some are cake to level. It’s not as bad as logging on and realizing your 1 million credit corvette has been stolen (only to locateship and get it back).
Also, with the restraining bolts, I don’t think they should be high level. It is a simple design and easy to use device that a large majority of the galaxy can use. That’s the point of it. Pop it on the droid, press buttons on your remote, done.

I think being able to remove a restraining bolt should be high enough level that not everybody can do it.

Maybe "remove bolt" for slicer….and "makebolt" for engineers?
