Instead of trackship being a BH skill, I think it would go decent with an Espi skillset of Createbeacon, Placebeacon, Trackship.

The beacon would be attatched to a ship you want to track with a given encoding. You would need to have the beacon and a toolkit in your inventory holding a master datapad.

      [b:2ircqdx3]Syntax: placebeacon <ship name> <encoding>[/b:2ircqdx3]

In order to track the ship, you would need a Master Set datapad.

      [b:2ircqdx3]Syntax: trackship <ship name> <encoding>[/b:2ircqdx3]

Upon successful use of this skill, it will show you the current location of the ship and the current trajectory (if applicable).

For creation of a beacon, you would need a toolkit, duraplast, superconductor, circuits, and a crystal.

      [b:2ircqdx3]Syntax: createbeacon <beacon name>[/b:2ircqdx3]

For removal of the beacon, I think that should go into the Slicer skillset honestly, but it would be like this:

      [b:2ircqdx3]Syntax: beaconsweep <ship name>[/b:2ircqdx3]

This would require a master set datapad. Successful use of this skill would show whether or not your ship is bugged.

      [b:2ircqdx3]Syntax removebeacon <ship name>[/b:2ircqdx3]

If you successfully located a beacon on your ship, you would use this skill with a master set datapad and a toolkit to attempt to remove a beacon from your ship. Failure could result in the Espi who placed it being alerted to the attempted removal of the beacon if they are online at the time.[/quote:2ircqdx3]

I like this idea, but maybe make it so you don’t need the ship name, just a four to five digit encoding number that way a well trained espionage agent would be extremely useful.

Master sets having more uses is always a good plus also.

I like this idea as it is or if it was changed a little.[/quote:2ircqdx3]

Although i make that point, a realtime tracker would be useful, it can be a pain when the ships in "Hangar 1"

The idea needs more information behind it, is it just for tracking or something akin to matchvector in that it either shows their grid and /or lets you follow them?[/quote:2ircqdx3]

The way I see it, this would be akin to the following:

Matchvector – If a ship is in hyperspace, it shows you its current hyperspace trajectory.

Locateship – Shows you where the ship was last docked/is currently docked.

Monitor_Camera – In a sense anyway…If the ship is not in hyperspace, it will show you the current system the ship is in if it is in space.

I realize this would seem like an amalgamation of two slicer skills and an Espi skill, but what would differ though would be that you can actually follow the ship in realtime instead of getting a possible heading that can be changed (i.e. Matchvector).[/quote:2ircqdx3]
