This is a prevalent issue that I feel should be brought up. While I am aware that it is not against the rules to log out of the game if you feel your character is about to be threatened (key words "ABOUT TO BE THREATENED"), I personally feel that if you are a Forcer and you are caught bunk running to save your Forcer, you should be punished in some way. This is not conductive to encouraging a higher RP standard or even any RP whatsoever.
First Offense: Warning
Second Offense: Helling
Third Offense: Longer Helling
Fourth Offense: Stripped of ForceWhile I am aware that there are people who play Forcers who focus solely on "Pew Pew Everyone," this is not the topic of this discussion. That’s a debate for another post.

Why do people always feel the need to separate Forcers from other characters when it comes to wanting rules like this? The only time this should even be considered is for an apped character and in that case, it should be for all apped characters. What does it matter that they have force? That doesn’t change the issue at hand one single bit. As for the concept itself, I’ve seen my fair share of people running and logging out as soon as they even get a whiff of someone that might harm them, showing up. The issue with this is how are you going to prove that person wasn’t just about to log that character off in the first place? Are we going to have someone watch every single character and try to determine that they ran and logged off because someone showed up? Its just not a logical rule to even attempt to tackle in my opinion. Of course I hate when people do this just as much as the next person, but I just don’t see a way to stop it because its opinion based. Player X shows up to kill Player Y, but Player Y logs off. Player X automatically assumes its because they’re there….not that Player Y has someone screaming in their ear IRL that they need to hurry up because they’re gonna make everyone late for the movie.

First thing that came to mind.

I basically agree. Moreover, the entire point of this is to, in theory, stop Forcers that should die–such as the era’s main antagonist–from hiding from said inevitable death. There’s already a process for that: revoking their app. Trust me, Force applications WILL be revoked for being an antagonist-in-hiding. It happened to me–and I actually had a reason to be hiding, not a case of fear-of-death-itis.
So, leave it as-is. If someone applies for a Forcer and hides unnecessarily, revoke their application. If they rolled Force, who are you to fault them for trying to keep their precious stroke of luck from becoming a stroke of bad luck?
On top of that, the entire idea of punishing a player for what they THINK–that is, that they THINK they are about to be threatened, not that they actually ARE being threatened–is total bullshit and far too 1984-esque for my comments to continue without denigrating to insults.

On the other hand, you could argue that "bunk running" is the in-game equivalent to "disappearing into a crowd of three trillion people" that would normally happen in star wars.

It’s a game that PK is a large part of, such bullshit ruins that aspect. Stop trying to deny this fact.

More nicely put; game mechanics do not equal realism.
