Senator Kisari Steps Down
A press release was received by the GNI news desk this evening direct from the Senator of Coruscant's office. Stating that although he is proud of what the New Republic has accomplished to date, Senator Kisari has decided that public office is no longer the best option available to him, and will be stepping down. Following this announcement, the Coruscant electorate office is encouraging any interested parties to begin campaigning for the Senatorial seat.

Ithor elects Velsa Illean to the New Republic Senate
Trumpets sound through the distance as streamers and confetti fly through the expanse of the herdship Cloud Mother. Thousands of Ithorians stand before a raised platform, talking excitedly amongst themselves before a female Ithorian steps from behind a curtain and into view. Thunderous applause and cheers greet her arrival, silenced by a raised hand and a warm gleam in the Ithorians eyes as she draws in a deep breath to speak. "People of Ithor," her melodic voice calls out, easily carrying across the masses as she looks lovingly over those gathered, "Friends of the Republic, it is my greatest honor to stand before you today and receive such warmth and joy. I, Velsa Illean, am proud to become your next Senator! Ithor, as so many other worlds has, suffered greatly in the past few years. From rule by the iron hand of the Morgukai to a plague upon the galaxy itself. Mother Jungle herself was caught in the horrid disaster that was the invasion and infection of her children, and I know I speak for all when I say we weep for what was done to her." An eerie, mournful silence falls over the crowd, many watching the woman with remorse and sorrow. -- "But Mother Jungle is strong, Her Children are strong! For every mark upon Her she will blossom again twice over! For every one of us lost we will find two new brothers and sisters to nurture and care for. Let us not dwell upon the loss of life, let us not hold on to sorrow and regret. We must rise above that which has harmed us, we must take the teachings of Mother Jungle and become twice as strong as we were before, twice as joyful, twice as caring for all those around us. It is with this sentiment that I stand before you no longer as the wanderer between herdships that I was before, spreading joy and friendship to all whom I met, but instead as someone you, the people of ithor, have chosen to aid not only in our own recovery but the galaxy itself! We will stand tall amongst those who can not! We will help this galaxy regrow from war and plague! We will see two seeds planted for every one taken and see life blossom again where it was thought lost! I stand now, in acceptance of your will to name me Senator and I will serve you with every fiber of my being. But above all else, above every individual, We are Ithor!" The camera sweeps away as thunderous applause once again erupts from those present, leaving the image of a happy Ithorian woman raising a hand to wave to those watching from afar before cutting out.

As we look toward finding ways to make planet management less onerous, we're experimenting with a few concepts to help smooth out this process. Starting with divorcing SETLEADER from the Diplomacy skilltree. For now, it has been set to level 1 in the Diplomacy Skillset to testdrive it out.
