Obligatory "Who were you last timeline" thread

Alright… detailed character histories:

King Taren Salik-Preesh, of House Zalori, Commander of the Hapan Fleet:
Probably my favorite character of the timeline. Taren worked his way up the Consortium, because it wasn’t enough to be Royalty to become a big player in that clan, you had to show your worth and stick to it. My first big step was the celebration on Naboo, and then not long after that the first combat experience came up when AEW blockaded Kashyyyk. I believe at that time it was myself and Lonestar that took ships to Kashyyyk to keep the planet from falling out of our control. After that bit Taren became more involved in the Navy when he wasn’t doing political events to court favor with other people in the galaxy (man the Consortium really made a lot of people like them before they let the hammer fall). Anyways, the war with the Republic started not long after that and it was a fairly one sided fight unfortunately. Ravanna getting killed basically set the tone for the rest of the era, because Cybele wasn’t just going to let that go, no way in hell. Her revenge came on Corellia, where Taren brought the fleet into orbit and bombed it for a good two hours while the Republic begged us to stop. Ended up becoming disillusioned after he found out that Otoh Gunga was destroyed by the Consortium without his input. Ended up finding out about Galerian being a Sith and went with Narravin to meet with Roan. Galerian figured it out during the meeting and when Narravin and I returned to Hapes he landed, I boarded my fleet. Ended up getting outcasted in orbit and getting into a space battle with the other fleet in orbit before I ejected to the surface. Was shot down and killed over Hapes while Cybele begged me to abort my launch.

Grand Moff Malin Zalori:
My first real foray into villainy. Malin was Cybele’s older brother, who up until he went to Hapes had been serving on Zalori to keep the peace in the Queen Mother’s absence. Joined the HC as a part of the Army, then things went to shit with AEW and we lost four or five folks on Lorrd. My guy was pretty obstinate, so he gathered another landing party and went to Lorrd. Anyways, all of them ended up dying but the Sith there let Malin go because Galerian had plans for him. Transferred into the Empire as Grand Moff and worked there as the head of the government/Galerians mouthpiece. The Imperial laws and the cargo act were my children, was really proud of that (especially the interspecies relationship ban, which btw Malin had an interspecies sex magazine in his backpack the whole era, lol). Really enjoyed all of my roleplay with the engineering companies. I tried to be controlling but not -too- controlling of them. Some IC/OOC issues set Malin on a bit of a rebellious path, especially when he started getting heat for failures that were not his own. Plotted with Kallos, Niraya and Ralae to kill Galerian, got found out after Kallos was killed because of a disk on his datapad (Malin roleplayed with him about the plan to overthrow Galerian, had him log the conversation, and then had him erase Malin’s mind of all the details while setting a trigger in his memory to recall all of it if he saw the disk again). So when Galerian handed Malin the disk he literally had all those memories flood back into his mind, and then Galerian was basically like “get the fuck out”. Joined the Mandroxan Cartel not long after that, helped get a clan base set up in uncharted as well as pulling all the disillusioned ex-Imperials into the clan. When Galerian died Malin convinced Galv to let the Trade Fed employees out of the Imperial jail in return for his eventual return to the Empire to serve as Grand Moff. Malin never expected to be welcomed into the Rebel cause because of all of his past actions, and after getting things moving he wanted to get back into the Empire to do what he had always intended to do, save as many Hapans as he could from the yolk of the Empire. I had a very specific spyapp after Galerian tossed Malin out, and I planned on using it to cripple the Empire from within to allow the Rebels a foot up in the near future. Unfortunately Zavulon and Velar-Rynn strong armed Galv during a large meeting in the throne room. Galv ended up sitting and watching as both Zav and Velar took Malin down. Ended up coming out of my stun in the execution chamber, still fully outfitted. Drew my weapons and suicided right in front of both of them.

Alliance President Vagar Thestrian, Minister of Corellia:
Had a lot of fun with this guy as well, a jump back to the good side from my former evil character. Anyways, started out as Minister of Corellia and founded the Alliance with the other Ministers. He never really wanted to lead the Alliance, but after Gruwukken said he had no intentions to run again he decided that it would be best for the people if he were to run for the position. Ended up running unopposed. Took a lot of scrutiny for the Alliances “police state” actions, though that really was just how the character felt– if you have the power to keep the peace, you must use that power to do good. As things started to turn for the worse Vagar’s mind started to alter more towards supremacy, as he felt that his actions to bring about peace through negotiation and the threat of conflict was starting to become more and more ineffectual. Some internal issues severely hindered the Alliance and my plans for it, and it really threw me off OOCly because some of it was just… so ridiculous. But I carried on, despite the fact that many did not, and in the end we just didn’t have the resources or the man power to do what I had hoped we could. At the end of Vagar’s second term we were knee deep in the war with the Cartel and I had just postponed elections indefinitely, the first step of my plan to turn the clan into a dictatorship. Unfortunately for me I did something incredibly stupid after a long day at work– logged in and found that Ryloth was being hit by pirates, saw that we had a CR90 on our pad and decided “Hey, let’s throw that over Ryloth. I’ll go an do that now.” Jumped in, set a course for Ord Mantell to refuel, hit hyperspace and went to change out of my work clothes. Come back to my ship being shot at by a Hutt orbital ship with like 15% fuel left in the CR90. Managed to get out of range with no fuel left, but then died after my Admiral jumped close to the planet and started tractor capturing me. Ended up pulling me back into range of the orbital, which proceeded to break its target lock on the Harrower and focus back on me. Didn’t take longer than a couple seconds I was a poofed. Disappointing.

Spectre Vistayin, Hunter:
I had never played a hunter before when I rolled Spectre, but my intent with him from conception was to play a bounty hunter that was not like every other hunter searching for people to kill. To the contrary, Spectre believed in protecting those who wanted to live their lives in peace and prosperity. He wasn’t afraid to speak his mind, or make others know exactly how he felt about something, even if it meant ruffling some feathers. I spent a lot of my time on Nal Hutta listening to people under the guise that I was providing security for the Chuba (though, I was doing that, as far as I was concerned it was a place of neutrality and if anyone had tried to mess that up I’d have responded). Helped some folks gather their carapace gear, only charged them for it if they refused to come down and help fight, Spectre always considered it paid for if someone worked to earn it. When Naboo started having the issues he would spend a lot of time standing next to Kithel and giving the people blank, steely stares who would come to try and talk Kithel out of what he was doing (though I’m pretty sure some of them came to take him out, which I hope I prevented by being there). After Kithel disappeared Spectre became a lot more vocal about the conditions on Naboo, going so far as to threaten Vega and the rest of the Cartel. He went to meet with Thea on Alderaan to discuss the current galactic situation, then went to chill in his ship. They told me Zheng was coming, then Thea and Dyanir disappeared from the pad and I went to search for them to make sure they were alright. Ended up getting into a tussle with Zheng, which resulted in a chase around Alderaan. NEARLY got him on the pad since I refused to use called soldiers to block exits, since he just considered that to not bear any honor whatsoever. Still, I think I did pretty well by getting Zheng one or two hits from stunned (and being in all class one armor myself) before he ran off, healed and came back. He ended up winning because his shield recharged before mine (I don’t think he expected me to have flurry either :P). It was fun though, two folks fighting to the death for what they believe in.

Alliance Admiral Henry Verezkov (Berezkob):
Not much to say about Henry. He was a part of the Hapan Council (Rep. of Naboo) that elected Lyra as Queen Mother, though he opted to join the Alliance rather than the Families when that split went down. Idled him for a long time while I was playing Vagar. Ended up getting more involved when our lead Admiral Kurt split from the mud for OOC reasons. Got involved in two battles overall, one outside Corellian space where I think I got the jump on Tygo (you almost got one of my ships, mate! It was disabled and drifting with no fuel when you pulled out), ended up getting Kalona during that battle as well. Died over Nal Hutta during a poorly conceived assault that just had one mistake after another. One of our fleet commanders was killed trying to launch squadrons from his outer ship at the beginning of the battle, resulting in his three remaining ships doing nothing for the rest of the battle aside from getting blown up, while our third fleet commander waited outside uncharted for us to give him coordinates for the battle, which I really had no time to do since I was trying to fight 10 ships on my own. He eventually jumped in with his fleet, but never got close enough to engage. Verezkov ended up getting stuck in an orbit glitch with the flagship, resulting in him being unable to leave orbit despite which way I set my course. Added my personal ship to the squadron set to a central position, set my flagship to outer and launched, but didn’t get far enough away before the flagship went poof. My personal ship went down right after and that’s that.

Vanduu Babanuu (General V), Toydarian Spy:
Lol. 150 slicer, 150 espionage, 150 smuggling, 135 piloting, 130 engineering, 145 science. What -couldn’t- I do with this character? Vanduu started in the Alliance, trained himself up. His first big foray into the fight was working with Corvus to break into the Cartel base to break Jond out– big success. Almost got Vega but he made it to the lift and got to level one, by the time I hacked the lift and it got to our level he had left a bag full of grenades which delayed us. When we got back to the surface Vega was in his phome so we called it a day and took separate ships off the planet and made our escape back to Corellia. Ended up idling him for a bit as I focused on playing my Admiral. Got back into him after Vagar and Verezkov were dead, mainly traveling around and listening to what people were saying. Ended up getting more involved after I joined the Jedi Order, working as a team with Shadow. Had to save his ass from a turbolift in the Hutt Palace after he kidnapped Vega and got stuck on level two. 😛 Almost got caught myself since I ran into Xuzer and someone else at the entrance to the spaceport, but convinced them that I was just there to buy a shield, and since I was disguised as a Jawa and neither of them spoke it they just told me to leave. Hid in my ship for a few, then went back and found the exit was no longer blocked so I snuck by and cut into the palace, then got Shadow and Vega out. Had a lot of fun on “V”.

Well that explains how we managed to win the battle over Nal Hutta so decisively. I remember that being a tense night, as both sides had two mobile fleets at the time and we were all jumping around, jockeying for position. The last Alliance fleet didn’t come in until the battle was mostly over and then turned around and left almost immediately. The funny thing was that most of our ships were damaged and/or disabled after the initial battle. I let out a sigh of relief as they jumped out of the system.

The battle outside of Corellia was pretty humiliating. After losing all my ships, Kalona and not even destroying -one- of yours.. I felt pretty shitty. It was a long, shameful flight back to Nal Hutta.

Once Spectre became a target I started scouring planets for him. I checked Naboo first, but we knew you were friendly with the ARC, so I went to Alderaan. Someone confirmed your ship on the pad for me, so I went hunting for you. You drew down on me and blocked the exit when I was walking out of the library area. I immediately walked out and fired two sniper shots, then you vanished. When I went to the landing pad I started cutting your ship hatch and you decided to launch and leave. Shaika came into the system and shot you down, but forgot to blockade. We then fought it out on the landing pad where I came within an inch of my life. I barely got away and the fact that I had recharged my shield helped me seal the deal in our next scuffle when I re-engaged. One thing I recall is you spamming activate shield over and over again until you were stunned. I always wondered wtf that was about?

We actually called him Bice Berezkabob (he was Vice Admiral).

Ah, my shield had like two or three seconds left until it was ready to be activated again. I was spamming it in the hopes I could get it up before I went down. I was building mv to flurry the hell out of you. 😛

@Paco: I’m glad to know Malin went out like a Zalori and didn’t let some outsider scum take his life when his time came. Can’t speak for your day-to-day because I never saw it after disappearing, but glad to know he at least went out like a first relation to Cybele 😉

Uncle Malin. Probably the only Zalori I liked RPing with on Kallos. Cybele was dead at the time, Sytenis inactive, and Vessari a tool. We had some good times.
