      Wasn’t disagreeing with you, but the person a few posts back <!– s:) –><img src="{SMILIES_PATH}/icon_smile.gif" alt=":)" title="Smile" /><!– s:) –> I agree with the ‘energy’ being the difference completely.

Lightsabers would still block those, they’d just disintegrate the shots before they hit. Hell, lightsabers can be used to cut blastdoors.[/quote:2wgqhnfu]

But the idea is that the Little Slugs are so small and come out fast they would be overwhelmed. Much like at the *pushes up his glasses and breaths heavily* Battle of Genosis.[/quote:2wgqhnfu]

Geonosians used sonic weapons. Also, slugthrowers are not 5000rps uber machine guns–Verpine shatterguns and their derivatives (that one sniper rifle that Jaina used in Invincible, etc) are the only thing close to that.
The only reason that slug throwers were considered as superior to blasters if you’re going to take out a Jedi is because they were harder to sense; blasters put off a -lot- of energy, while &quot;slugs&quot; were a bit harder to see/sense/wutev.[/quote:2wgqhnfu]

Neit! I was simply referring to the fact that Jedi CAN die from being overwhelmed by things, whether they are blasters or slugs or sonic weapons. And yes the Slugs was so small and what not. Blaster are big, and clunky. Not to mention that since most technology revolved around defending against Blaster Bolts and not hot bits of metal, it’d be easier to attack with. Heh

Slugs actually could probably do more damage per bit of energy, given how /free/ energy is in star wars… Of course, it’s all the &quot;Lethal&quot; kind of energy, and if you put enough juice in it’d be the &quot;Artillery shell explosive&quot; kind of energy.

…but yeah. Slugthrowers, baby. Who needs a blaster when you can send a teardrop of metal screaming at relativastic speeds towards your enemy? You don’t even need any explosives at that point. The sheer impact would utterly destroy something, and depending on how big the shell is, Probably pierce a capital ships hull. Though, that would explain why railguns aren’t used more often in star wars. Nobody wants to breathe hard vacuum.
