Hey guys,
I don’t want this to come off like I’m unappreciative, because I am (the recent RPT on Naboo and all of that was fun!). It’s just that, if I were a new player and I logged on I wouldn’t have any idea it occurred because it’s not on the IG news yet. As on old player I’ve found myself looking because it’s fun sometimes to just glance at the recent events.
That being said, I know everyone has lives and can’t tend to this stuff 24/7, which is why I was just hoping to suggest that RPC be able to write up news stories, or select players. I’ve emailed stuff in the past but it doesn’t always get put up, which is totally fine, but for explosions and terrorism and stuff we need to get it up there ASAP. I know if I logged onto a mud that had a two day old news story about a terrorist attack on some planet I’d be much more interested about that mud in particular.
Anywho, it’s just me rambling. Feel free to hate on me.
Edit: And eventually it just becomes old news, and the people who knew about it are already pretty much done with the subject matter by the time it goes up on the IG news boards.

It would be great if there were a buffer command that would be something along the lines of ‘news submit’ that could be sent to the RPC for review and posted if it really was news that had gone on recently, or discarded if it was someone screwing around. It would encourage people to run more news broadcasts ICly as well, whether or not they had to do with the main clan’s goings on or player run events.

Can I use carrots to emphasize a point like that on the forums? Not sure. But now I have.
That would be a big boost to the RPC’s purpose especially during times like now where there are not a lot of deaths going on. It would also help them actually have an influence on creating a more enriched RP atmosphere for the game.

I was just thinking of maybe creating a podcast of 2-3 minutes long, released once or twice a week that is a “Galactic News Update!” and we could have like news anchors and if people wanted they could submit ads for the engineering corporations or recruitment ads for the major clans. Any interest?

I will gladly take the lead on this. I’ll make a gmail address to receive any ads or anything like that and post it to the board. Hopefully I’ll have a pilot episode within a week or two.
