I’m not really sure why I’m writing this. Maybe because it was really fun and I wanted to share. Maybe because I’m bored.
I was out with a few friends last night. A girl we recently met is moving back to Florida at the end of October, and we wanted to take her out to a local Macbeth production and dinner. (typical teenage party.) While we were at dinner I found a book of matches and started playing with them.
In case you’re curious, striking a match while blind is hard. Really hard. I have some vision so I was trying to see the little black strip on the side of the box while striking the match. I’m god awful at it.
I set the picture. I’m hunched over my box of matches, flicking the match against the magnesium strip. My nose is about… oh… four inches away, so I can see. I finally do something right (still have no idea how) and the match goes up. Excited, I gasp in, only to inhale fire and smoke. I coughed, propelling smoke from my nose. It’s funnier when you remember we were at the local ice cream place, surrounded by little children. A little girl put down her cone to say "Mommy, that boy’s a dragon!"
So yes. I am a dragon. And you know what? I’m proud of it.
