Post which game you were banned from and why.

Also: I was indefinitely sitebanned from the mud Realms of Despair. It wore off after I moved once and they never bothered to re-ban me, but funny nonetheless.

Illegal Perm. I did not have enough logs to justify it.

I was banned from World of Warcraft for a week after an incident of "impersonating a developer". I made a level 1 human mage named "Eyonix" who is a community manager of World of Warcraft, and I started a guild called <Blizzard Staff>. I ran around in Ironforge asking players for their feedback on balance issues and things, then this guy paid me 300 gold to buff paladins and I started asking for people to give me money to buff their class. At about 500 gold in donations some doucheface reported me and I got a week ban. Funny thing is they didn’t change my character’s name or guild.

I got baned from another starwars mud for killing an imm’s cousin. I was bored one night so I went in Avanga style and decided to rp a pirate. I took my largest ship and sat in orbit over coruscant. I then did a ic channel message to the whole mud. Anyone coming in out launching or trying to hyper would be shot down unless I was payed 5million credits. No one said anything and the imm’s cousin launched her ship. I shot her down and was banned. I got back in 6 months later and found a new rule posted. "No piracy in Coruscant space"

Oh, I have been banned from a couple of sims in Second Life, but that’s not the same as a game ban..

I was banned from a FotE indefinitely way back in the day. Me and a group of friends from a PK MUD created characters and decided to run around perming anyone we saw.

Yeah, definitely banned. Of course, like most FotE’s my ban outlived the MUD itself.

I was banned from LotJ when Jec hijacked my character and permed the mud.

I was away from the computer for about 5 minutes, during which time 22 people were permed. By the time I came back, the deed had been done. I sat down and got on OOC. Angry, angry people greeted me with expletives that I didn’t even know existed.

Paige, Raven and Ghost accused me and Jec of being one and the same, and we were both banned. All of our characters were slain. I eventually got it worked out and I was allowed to keep my Gamorrean senator.

…And then they gave me their mud.

Poetic Irony?

I’ve gotten… a single 5 day ban, 2 1 day bans (all three by Orion), and countless temporary and/or joke bans.
Between the fact that 5 rounds up to a week and the fact that I have a quasi-standing permaban threat by Orion for something that has since happened without my impetus, I went with the "1 week" option.

EDIT: I realized that this is about ANY game, not just LotJ. I’ve been banned from countless BF1942, BF2, BF2142, and CoD4 servers for "hacking" (lol, apparently guessing where people will be on strategic objective maps and prefiring = cheats). MW2 doesn’t seem to have bans (outside of IW and/or Steam punishments), so nothing on that front yet. I’ve been ACCUSED of hacking on there, though (again, wtf, bomb carriers ALWAYS go prone/crouched by the target).
Oh, and some people I used to play DnD with banned me from specific character builds.

I’ve been threatened with bans from America’s Army for "spamfiring", i.e. firing repeatedly on a target where you know someone to be but can’t see them, but they just popped their head out and you know they’re still near there. And the guessing thing. That always cracks me up. "OMGWTFBBQ HAXORZ!" "Dude, you ALWAYS go left catwalk, ALWAYS.." Though people who prefire spawn areas from across the map really piss me off.. anyhow…
