For a clan to function, a certain degree of trust is required between its members. This trust is vital for clans to be successful, and these Spying and Treachery rules are designed to ensure such trust is possible. It is therefore essential that each person who wishes be involved in this aspect of Legends of The Jedi follow and understand these rules.

Spying rules

  1. You may not intentionally seek to harm or cause damage to (including, attacking, shooting, grenading and stealing from) members of your clan, or your clan itself.
  2. You may not reveal classified information pertaining to your clan to those who are unauthorized. These authorizations are established by clan members who are of higher rank than you, or players who are designated as supervisors.
  3. If a player leaves a clan for any reason, they may not immediately take hostile action against said clan. This includes divulging classified information about the clan, and aiding and abetting clan enemies. If, however the player's original clan decides to pursue the player, the player will be free from spyapp restrictions. All regular perming rules apply. This does not apply to players who violate the laws of said clan at a later date (Stealing from a citizen, attacking a citizen, etc.)
  4. If your character is determined to be ICly insubordinate it is punishable in accordance with the clans policies, general RP of the clan, or in any way that is within the superiors RP and character_sheet to handle you, provided that these punishments do not break the current spyapp help file, or help_perm.

Prisoners of war

Without a pre-approved spying application, a prisoner of war (defined as someone unwillingly captured by a warring clan, defectors do not count) may still reveal the following information to warring clans if sufficient role play cause has been established for the prisoner to do so:

  1. Greets, dubs, and information of ranks of members of the prisoners clan.
  2. The names and classes of ships owned by the prisoners clan. (ie: MC40 "Stalker")
  3. Ship specifications (ie: MC40 "Stalker" has 20 turbolasers, 75 hyperspeed, and 20 A-wing interceptors.)
  4. Names of ships crew members.

Exceptions

It is possible to request the staff to grant you exceptions to some or, or perhaps all of these above "Spying" rules through the submission of a spy application (spyapp). A spyapp is sent in via the "Applications" tab on the LOTJ website: http://www.legendsofthejedi.com This application will then be accepted or denied by the Immortal Staff. You can check the status of your spyapp on the website at any time provided you are logged into the game. A spyapp MUST be accepted before it is to be considered valid. In order to get a successful spyapp, you need to justify yourself to the staff and the amount of justification required is highly dependent upon the scale and impact of the exception. Reasonable thought must be shown in all cases, including a well written character sheet and think logs.

Basic information to include in your application: Your character's name. The specific target of your application (individual clan members? a division? the entire clan?) Which of the above bullet points you are looking to violate, and specific information as to the extent of which you will go.
