LotJ Dictionary
Ok, since people don't seem to take the hint to leave the format that's already there and copy that (tl;dr = DON'T MUCK IT UP WITH YOUR OWN FORMATTING, KIRASH), here's a short manual of style for entries on the page:

  • The full title (up to and including the colon) will be bolded.
  • No extra spaces around words in the parentheses; parentheses should only be used on definitions that are abbreviated (e.g. RPC, IMM).
  • DO NOT have the title of the dictionary entry be a link. The entire point of this page is to, eventually, allow a lot of the minor pages to be deleted; linking the entry to those minor pages is just work that will have to be undone later.
  • Likewise, minimize in-entry links. Certain pages, e.g. rules and wizlist, should be linked to; they're too long and too independent to ever fully fit in the dictionary.
  • Don't randomly capitalize a term because you think it's a proper noun; definitions are not proper nouns. The sole exception so far is terms that are not abbreviated, but are merely shortened (e.g. perm); capitalization can be used to emphasize the shortening, ala "PERManent kill."

I hope this clears up some misconceptions. This news entry will be edited as more style points come up. Thanks!

Class Categories, 2.0
Since a lot of work has been done over the last couple of days (by @Kirash and myself) on class categories, I figured that it would be a good idea to state the eventual goal with these: having all of them look like category:engineering. Besides the obvious format, there are some functional differences on that page that aren't as obvious: "skills" and "feats" at the top link to their respective sections on the page; additionally, the EVENTUAL goal is to--using CSS, as I've shown in category:engineering#gather--have the slist entries link to the page, not to external pages. Ideally, only those skills that are really complicated (some engineering skills and a handful of others, e.g. call) would actually have pages; the rest would just have entries on their category's page. Additionally, I'm trying to flesh out the LotJ Dictionary. If anyone can name words that should be on there (and I agree), it's 20 points; if you write up the definition (and I like it enough to not have to edit it--much), it's 50 points. Thanks!

Extensions, etc.
Thanks to Rojan, we finally have the short URLs (e.g. http://www.legendsofthejedi.com/wiki/Main_Page): you can know type directly to a page without having to know the PHP prefix. We also have an extension that allows page titles to be hidden (once again, look at the main page for the example; you won't see the glaring "Main Page" title above all the pretty divs). For now, it's to be used for class category pages; look at category:engineering for proper use. Also, Rojan found out one of the reasons why images don't seem to be working: absolute links. USE RELATIVE LINKS. If that doesn't fix it (and I've already found ones it won't fix), well... I'm still looking into it.

Class Categories
I've modified the format of category:engineering; this is the new example for the rest of the class pages (categories, really). This includes medical and smuggling; I just didn't have the time to fix them yet, so that work is up for grabs. Also: if you want points for your work, guys, you need to e-mail me. I'm not going to be a secretary. Regardless, thanks for the work!

Categories
Because most of the work of adding pages to categories has been counterproductive (like adding pages to categories that are going to be deleted, e.g. category:help, category:IC, etc.), please stop categorizing pages. I've removed that item from the to-do list. Thanks!

Uprising
Currently IC characters can not have informational pages. For the time being, IC clans will be allowed restricted informational pages--nothing that couldn't be found out easily (e.g. with showclan or the news command), or they will be edited out of existence. Sorry.

Helping Out

What?

  • Create individual character, planet, clan, ship, battle, and event pages (i.e., red-linked pages); expand and correct those already in existence.
    • When feasible (and not against the rules), use LotJ-specific tidbits of information (i.e., do not copy the Wookieepedia page and/or LotJ help file and call it a day).
  • Continue adding famous characters (LotJ or EU) to racial pages.
  • Update new player guides for the new timeline; find other pages likely not compliant (e.g. History, RPC) and fix them.
  • Go through and have redirects on partial names, @account names instead of user:account pages, name typos or variations, etc. Note that redirects to a category (e.g. engineering) must always be formatted as # r e d i r e c t [ [ : category : <category name ] ] (without the extra spaces)... note the extra colon in front of "category," as it's what prevents the redirect page from being added to the category it redirects to.
  • Make sure ALL rules pages are up to date.
  • Make a ship template.
  • Make a "historical" category, or some such, for skills/etc. (e.g. slash) that are a historical part of LotJ but have no current iteration.
  • Standardize skill pages (format, templates, et al); standardize skill categories (make the rest look like medical/smuggling).

How?
