The Aqualish were tusked bipeds from the planet Ando whose appearance combined aspects of arachnids and aquatic mammals. Aqualish had a reputation for being nasty, crude and aggressive.

Physiology and Culture
There are three types of Aqualish, the Aquala, the Ualaq, and the Quara. Though Ualaq and Quara only made up about ten per cent of the Aqualish population, their fingered hands made them more comfortable with technology. Thus, they were the species more commonly found off-world.
The Aquala (widely considered to be the baseline Aqualish) are tusked, walrus-faced humanoids with skin ranging from light blue to deep russt. Adult Aqualish stand between 1.8 and 2.0 meters tall.
When Aqualish discovered sublight space travel capability from an exploratory craft that they destroyed, they began a series of bloody conflicts with their sister world. The violence became a black mark on the species' reputation, and the Republic initiated several attempts to demilitarize the Aqualish. They have remained through their history a reluctant member of the civilized Republic.
Role in LotJ
Aqualish admire strength and are contemptuous and hostile toward the weak. It is socially acceptable in Aqualish culture to be pushy and belligerent when meeting someone for the first time. If they do not stand up, Aqualish will continue bullying them.
Aqualish almost always end up in a shadowy trade though some find more honorable work as a bodyguard. Concepts of urbane culture, courtesy or diplomacy are completely foreign to the thuggish Aqualish.
Aqualish can speak Galactic Basic but with a harsh, guttural sound due to vocal cord limitations.
