Maybe add in eating/drinking again, but with LONGER timers for each. So you’re not spammed "You are STARVING!" 50 times a second. And with the gather skill, add in cooking/skinning/butchering.
I understand that hunger is usually annoying, but it adds realism if done right. Just a thought.

Not the point, what I suggest is, bring it back, include cooking/skinning/butchering/etc skills. Remove the whole losing 10 health each time you get "[color=#804040:288bpn2i]YOU ARE STARVING![/color:288bpn2i]" "[color=blue:288bpn2i]YOU ARE DYING OF THIRST[/color:288bpn2i]". And increase the timer between each message. Maybe change the messages completely. To just say "You are feeling a bit hungry…", or "You could use something to drink.."

Anyway, I kinda agree with this whole idea and stuff. You could make it so that your stomach growls if you haven’t had anything to eat in a while, without actually losing any stats whatsoever due to hunger/thirst. HOWEVER I propose that this idea/thing/code/system/lol would be made a config one – Config +/-needs.
This way we wouldn’t have an Emperor show signs of starving while commanding his minions, but those who practice "civilian RP" would get something cool to RP.
Or we could just put in some more socials.

Thus the timer increase. And I never said a damn thing about it doing ANYTHING to your character if you don’t eat. Honestly people, there’s no friggin reason to NOT want hunger/drinking. And a config option kinda ruins the point of the RP.
And "For cooking back"? When did we ever HAVE cooking on LOTJ? I also never mentioned that people around you would get a message.

I like the idea of being able to cook. I don’t like the idea of HAVING to eat. But dude, you don’t actually NEED ‘object’ to RP. Just a vivid imagination and the EMOTE command. Example
$n goes into the kitchen, and spends a really long while cooking up a fabulous meal for <him/her> and <his/her> dining partner. Then <they/he/she> bring(s) it back and set it on the table before sitting down. "Well, how does it look?" $n asks.
I usually use more sophisticated emotes. This was just for demonstration purposes. You don’t need to take up more hard drive space for an additional skill, and we CERTAINLY don’t need to need to abort RP right in the middle in order to go find a food vendor or a player with the "cook" skill.

I agree with Final_Fantasy_Lover on this one. Hunger isn’t exactly that important compared to space battles and such. We can always RP it.
