History

I seem to be in a minority with enjoying complex histories. I’ll just fall in the category of having extremely detailed histories and annoying everyone![/quote:zoii8mbl]
You are not at all in the minority for enjoying complex histories. At least, I don’t think you are. If you are then I am too. A couple of my characters have pretty lame/undeveloped back stories, but I usually plan out characters for quite a while before I roll them and I love giving them complex histories. I also much prefer RPing with characters who’ve put a lot (or at least some) thought into their backstory because it will show through a multitude of situations. I like being able to talk to whoever is interested about my character’s past and I enjoy [i:zoii8mbl]having[/i:zoii8mbl] to talk to them to know theirs. What I object to is that putting all of that information into my ‘history’ file doesn’t make sense and detracts from that RP.

"Well… I mean, other than the entire Empire, who knows all about it cuz they read my file."

I have a folder on my computer for each character I make. Inside I have a description file, history file, character sheet file. Those are the things that go in game. I also have a ‘concept’ file which is my character’s RP history. I wouldn’t be opposed to having another buffer like that that worked similar to think logs, or even rolling it into think logs, I just don’t want other people to be able to know all about it without RPing with me.
